Surveying the Text Analytics Landscape View Bio |

Richard is the Founding Partner of the Thoughtware Group (www.thoughtwaregroup.com), an organisation specialising in assisting organisations embrace the benefits of Social Media. In this guise, Richard has written over 150 blog posts; designed and delivered senior executive learning programmes; and established Thinking Insight (www.thinkinginsight.com) - a text analytics bureau service that generates meaning, insights, sentiments, knowledge pathways, etc from web communications and other digital sources.
ThinkingInsight, under a variety of white label brand names, has proved its ability to discern meaning and sentiment in corpus drawn from many sources in arguably one of the toughest ‘marketscapes’ – the pharmaceutical marketplace.
Previously, as CEO of Rapp Collins Digital (Europe), Richard grew the digital marketing side of what was the largest direct marketing company in Europe to be a leader in the digital marketing field. This experience has helped underpin the Thoughtware Group as leaders in discerning the implications and applications of the text analysis results generated through ThinkingInsight.
The platform for Richard’s career was created by academic studies in Education and Economics through Honours, Masters and Ph D studies. These studies created Richards appreciation of analytical rigour.
Unfortunately, as one academic colleague commented, Richard had “a terminal case of relevance.” This ‘failing’, has resulted in a long and varied career in many industrial areas from mining, banking, and pharmaceuticals to property development.
This ‘escape from the ivory tower’ has played-out in Australia, the UK, other parts of Europe and the USA. |
